Masoor dal is a quick, everyday red lentil curry that pairs with roti or rice. This four-serving recipe is ready in under 30 minutes, with no soaking required and only pantry staples — red lentils, onion, garlic, tomato, jeera and turmeric.

Ingredients required
1. Masoor Dal (Red Lentil) - 1 cup, 150gms
2. Half an onion chopped into small pieces
3. 2/3 Garlic Cloves
4. 1 medium size tomatoes
5. 1 tsp. any Oil
6. 1 tsp. jeera
7. 1 tsp, tumeric
5. 1 tsp. salt
6. 450 ml water (reduce to 300 ml if you like it thicker)
Cooking method
1. Heat oil
2. Add jeera, once it sizzles add cut onion and saute
3. Add tomatoes, tumeric and saute for 2/3 mins
4. Add washed masoor dal and saute for 2 mins
5. Add water
6. Bring to boil
7. Cover and cook for 15 mins (till soft and of a consistency you like)

Goes well will any staple like roti, rice etc
