This policy explains how nYOOtrition handles the personal information you give us — what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at www.nyootrition.com and our mobile app (together, the “Service”).
1. The information we collect
We collect only what we need to make the Service work for you.
1.1 Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address, and (optionally) a profile photo.
- Your profile — gender, age, height, current weight, and the health goals you’ve chosen.
- Your preferences — cuisines you enjoy, dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, halal, etc.), allergies, and dishes you’d rather not see.
- Household members (Family plans only) — first names and dietary profiles of the people you’re planning for.
- Messages — anything you send us through our contact form.
1.2 Information generated as you use the Service
- Your Food Diary — meals you mark as eaten, extras you log.
- Your swap choices — healthy-swap selections you accept, so the Service learns your taste over time.
- Fridge photos — images you submit to Fridgilicious for ingredient recognition. These are processed only to generate your recipes and are not retained afterwards.
- Generated meal plans and recipes — what the Service builds for you.
1.3 Technical information
- Device information — device type, operating system version, app version (for compatibility and diagnostics).
- Diagnostic data — if the app crashes or errors, minimal technical context to help us fix it.
- Access logs — standard server logs (timestamp, IP address, request path) kept briefly for security and debugging.
2. How we use the information
We use your information to:
- Build and deliver your personalised meal plans, recipes, and swaps;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Respond to your messages and provide customer support;
- Send transactional communications (account confirmations, security alerts);
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising or share it for marketing purposes.
3. How we share information
We share personal information in a small number of limited circumstances:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate the Service — for example, hosting infrastructure, email delivery, error monitoring, and the AI systems that generate recipes and meal plans. These providers process information on our behalf under written agreements and only as needed to perform their function.
- With you — we provide you with your own information when you ask for it.
- For legal reasons — if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- In a corporate transaction — if we’re ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You’ll be notified before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
When information is sent to AI systems to generate recipes, swaps, or Fridgilicious results, we send only what is needed for the request — for example, the dish name, ingredients, and your dietary preferences. We do not send your real name, email, or any other direct identifier.
4. How long we keep it
- Account data — while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days (some data may persist in anonymous, aggregated form).
- Fridge photos — not retained beyond the request that generated your recipes.
- Diagnostic and access logs — kept briefly for security and debugging purposes, then deleted.
- Contact-form messages — kept for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry, plus a reasonable archival period.
5. Your choices
You can:
- Update your profile and preferences from within the app at any time;
- Delete your account directly in the app, or by contacting us;
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information you believe is wrong;
- Ask us to delete your personal information;
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
Some of these rights are guaranteed by applicable data protection law in your country. To exercise any of them, use our contact form and choose “Privacy / data request” as the category. We’ll respond within a reasonable time and, in any case, within the period required by your local law.
6. Children
The Service is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age that applies in your country. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Family-plan profiles for children in your household contain only a first name and dietary information; we treat this as your data, provided in your role as their parent or guardian.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever discover a breach that materially affects your data, we’ll notify you and any regulator we’re required to inform.
8. International users
The Service may be accessed from many countries. Depending on where you live, your information may be processed in a country other than your own. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps required by applicable law to protect it.
9. Cookies and tracking
Our website does not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics, or cross-site trackers. The only cookies set are those strictly necessary for the website to function. See our Cookie Policy for the specifics.
The app stores authentication tokens and a small amount of preference data locally on your device so that it works smoothly. This information stays on your device unless it’s needed to sync with the Service.
10. Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices materially change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If there are significant changes, we’ll let you know through the app or by email.
11. How to contact us
Questions, privacy requests, or anything else about how we handle your data — use our contact form and choose “Privacy / data request”. We read every message.
