Our story

The food you already love.
Made easier.

Why we built a meal planner instead of another calorie counter — and where we’re going from here.

Where it started

A question at the kitchen table.

What’s for dinner?

It’s the most ordinary question in the world. And it’s the one that quietly defeats most of us at least three times a week. By Wednesday the plan’s gone out the window. By Thursday it’s a takeaway. By Sunday the fridge has half a cabbage, half a tin of tomatoes, and a vague sense of failure.

We didn’t set out to build an app. We set out to fix that Wednesday-night question for ourselves — and we kept finding the same answer in the existing apps: they didn’t know the food we ate.

The wall we hit

A blind spot the size of half the world.

The mainstream nutrition apps are remarkable products. But they were built around Western eating — pasta, chicken breast, oatmeal, salad. Try logging a homemade dal makhani, an aubergine tagine, a Persian polow or a Pakistani biryani, and you’re wading through a database that doesn’t know what to do with you.

So you simplify. You log “homemade curry — medium portion” and hope the numbers are roughly right. You stop because it’s exhausting. The app stops being useful, and you’re back to Wednesday.

We weren’t willing to give up the food. So we built something that knew it.

What we built

A meal planner. Not a calorie counter.

nYOOtrition leads with a plan. A full, personalised week of meals — built around the food you actually cook, the goals you actually have, and the people you actually feed. Real recipes from real cuisines, with ingredients and cooking steps you’d recognise from your own kitchen.

When the plan needs lightening, our Healthy Swaps engine doesn’t ask you to give up the dish — it swaps the heavy ingredient for a better one. When you’ve had a long day and the plan goes out the window, Fridgilicious turns three fridge photos into three recipes you can cook tonight.

Two characters help you through it: nYOOTRI, the AI Meal Planner who handles the week; and nYOO, the AI Chef-Bot who handles the moments in between.

A note from us

Built by people who eat like you do.

We didn’t build nYOOtrition for “users”. We built it for our own kitchens first — for the partner with a dietary condition, the parent feeding a mixed-diet household, the friend who wanted to eat lighter without giving up the food they grew up on.

We’re a small team. If we get something wrong, tell us — the contact form reaches us directly. If we get something right, even better — tell us that too.

Let’s Live Healthy!
